Iceland is a country, where fire and ice, mountains and valleys, dark
winters and summer midnight sun, all co-exist. Experience hiking in this
country by hiking the Fimmvorouhals and Laugavegur hiking trail (a total
of about 69 km), which connects the nature reserves Fjallaback and
Poeamoek. On this trail you can experience mountains, glaciers, roaring
hot springs, river and lakes. While on this hike you will be staying at
huts. The itinerary also includes a hike to Mt Esja, a short walking
tour of Reykjavik and a Puffin boat tour. Approximate cost for the trip
is $2,490 which includes lodging, most breakfasts/dinners and
transportation in Iceland. Estimated airfare to Reykjavik from Boston is
in the $650 - $850 range.
