Web Notice:

The Alsace region is nestled between France's beautiful Vosges Mountains
and the border with Germany. This charming area, which is a combination
of both cultures, is known for fine wine and gourmet cuisine. After a
tour of the notable city of Strasbourg we will trek for 10 days mostly
on well-maintained long distance trails through vineyards and along
ridges with panoramic views of the Rhine Basin and the Black Forest.
Medieval villages, ancient fortresses, and historic churches will be
explored. Evenings will be spent in quaint villages with traditional
architecture featuring "half houses decked with brilliantly colored
flowers. Lodging is in two and three star hotels of local character with
traditional Alsatian cuisine. The trip is co-led by a semi-professional
photographer who will lead optional walks and discussions on
photographic composition and technique. Typical day traverses 7-14 miles
with 1,000' - 2,700' elevation gain/loss. Baggage transfer, local
transportation, lodging, breakfast, and most dinners included. Airfare
of ~$700 not included.
